Commentary
I enjoy photography because, as they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words, but I also like words. Words can add description, meaning, insight and commentary. They can also be used to express opinion and to provide guidance. Time and experience have engendered a fascination with the use of good English (and inevitably an annoyance with it’s misuse). I have included a Blog in my website where I write a few, hopefully well chosen, words about my travels, my photography and, increasingly , my observations on topics that interest me. Inherent with a desire to share some words as well as pictures, I have written a book called ” A Matter of Taste“. This experience has been enlightening and I am hopeful of more interaction with those of you who check out the book, visit my blog and review my photographs. Perhaps this isn’t by definition a service, but, who knows, maybe it could become a channel for mutual observations and sharing of guidance and advice on the art and science of photography.
Photo enhancement
Many people have photographs in shoe-boxes, in drawers, frames or albums that have suffered the test of time. Using a proficiency in imaging software, I would be pleased to give these images a new lease of life, so that a cherished photo can rekindle memories and be proudly published or displayed.
Photography
If you have an occasion, an event or a location that you would like photographed I would be delighted to help. Maybe you’d like to capture a moment with friends or family with some natural and informal images. I’m open to ideas. I have worked with web site design and media specialists to provide promotional images for restaurants, pubs., holiday cottages, hotels, B&B’s and guest houses. Photographs provide an insight into the style and features of an establishment. The images need to give potential customers and clients something that attracts, informs comparison and with an impactive website showcases the brand and makes a persuasive impression.
Photobooks
You might prefer your selection of images from an event, location or get-together in more tangible form. I can arrange the publication of photobooks using photos you provide or from those I have taken.
Slideshows
A selection of images from an event, location or get-together often look better and capture the spirit and the moment in the form of a slideshow. I can produce very professional slideshows using the latest software, either from images you provide or from photographs I have taken, and publish them in the format that best suits your needs for sharing.
