Two of my favourite things are photography and food It is therefore not surprising that I have several galleries of “foodie photos”. Images that remind me of great food and that might even get you salivating too. Given that Italy is a favourite destination and the food of that fascinating country is my “cibo preferito” the inevitable consequence is that the food of Italy features significantly in my galleries.
I have also been fortunate enough to undertake some photographic commissions for restaurants, which can be a labour of love for a foodie like me, especially if you get to sample some of the dishes that are placed in front of the camera!
Food is a passion not just a fuel. It’s great to recognise and enjoy the skill of people who prepare fabulous food. As well as being gastronomically talented many people who work in kitchens are artists. It’s so true that “we eat with our eyes” because our senses combine as our tastes are tempted and influenced by visual appearance and ambience. I’ve explored this topic in my book ………”A Matter of Taste”.
Here’s a recent example of a lovely lunch in a local restaurant, and I think you “get the picture”.

As you might have noticed elsewhere on this site, my love of food and photography (and words) have also spurred me on to write a book. The book “ A Matter of Taste” is featured in the “Books and Photobooks” section (under Services). As part of that exercise I was keen to explore some of the “influencers” in the food world (notably the canon of TV Celebrity chefs) who might have had an influence on the food choices we make and our exploits and adventures in our kitchens. For a little bit of fun here’s a little slideshow of some famous faces.
